The Closer I Get

Morrissey - Hold Onto Your Friends

Morrissey - Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself

Beyond shitty day at work today - ever been on the verge of walking out?  Tonight, after an incredibly brutal few days, my good friend surprised me with a fragrant bouquet of lilies [my favorite flower and she didn't even know it], wine, cheese, art supplies and massive cheer up vibes.  She didn't even complain when I could only stomach listening to Vauxhall and I while we arted and chatted [she said it was beautiful].  God I love her- a beautiful lovely friend indeed and I'm the luckiest to know her. Discovery too, because she found out one of my clay sculptures is 1] something I made and 2] inspired by and named because of song two above.  Take that Evil Boss Man, you can't steal my simple joys.  Now if I could only find a way to stream Morrissey subliminally into his cranky, abusive ears while he's sleeping - he might be more human/e.

Hmm, this Mr Morrissey sounds an interesting character. Has he released anything else? I think I might have to hunt for more.

A post that references a throw-away comment to another post? You're a pro, madame, and I'm saluting such sublime execution.

This made me think of a TS Eliot poem I vaguely recall:

Now that lilies are in bloom
She has a bowl of lilies in her room
And twists one in her fingers while she talks.
"Ah, my friend, you do not know, you do not know
What life is, you should hold it in your hands"

Only it isn't lilies in the poem is it? Rather, it's lilacs that are in bloom, kept in her room. Good job I checked. Good job I didn't make this part of my comment.

Do you know I've read this comment like a thousand times. Literally. No, not literally but many times. I think it's time I sprouted two additional heads that way I could respond in triplets.

Mr. Morrissey is a new and refreshing breed of songster - don't miss out. Hunt to your heart's content!

You speak in riddles - puzzles within puzzles referencing a quote by the by. "We see plans within plans".

Thank you for the reminder of that TS Elliot poem. The man had a way with words, both timely and cloudy.
